Jim Le is a native from Phoenix, Arizona, with interests in both film and French.

Influenced by his friendship with a Franco-American, Jim started learning French at 20 years old and studied in Aix-en-Provence in 2004. Jim returned to The University of Arizona in 2005 where he was admitted into the BFA Media Arts Program – an intensive 2-year curriculum in film & video production that would help him develop his personal voice in both narrative and documentary mediums. Among his student work is his life-inspired short film Park Bench which has already circulated among several film festivals, including those in the US, Canada, and France, and also premiered on Canada’s OutTV network.

In 2007, Jim graduated with a BFA in Media Arts Production and a BA in French just before attending the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival where he interned with The American Pavilion and directed a short documentary for The Adobe Real Ideas Studio documentary competition. Following his internship, Jim continued to reside in France after having been selected by the French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services at the French Embassy to participate in their assistantship program. During that time, Jim also worked as a consultant and production assistant for the Paris production company French Connection Films and helped develop and co-create their TV series Expats, which was also inspired by Jim’s experiences living as an expatriate in France.

In late 2009, Jim was granted the «Talent & Skills» Visa from the French Consulate in Los Angeles to continue this project and further his film career in France. Since 2010, Jim has volunteered as a programming assistant for Jules Verne Adventures, a non-profit organization dedicated to the environment, adventure, science and fiction. He also currently works as a freelance translator and subtitle editor for several production companies.

Jim currently resides in Paris, France.

Aujourd’hui, Jim habite toujours à Paris.
